Kona springs into action…
Ok, So as Michael just posted, I am working from home today because of Tropical Storm Eduoard…I think that is how you spell it?
Anyways, I always find it very amusing to be at home with Kona and Dixie…it gives me a glimpse into what their day just might be like. I’m sitting in the living room working from my lap top and Kona and Dixie flanked me on either side, laying on the floor. They are great guard dogs…or really Kona is. But Dixie is REALLY GOOD at playing copy cat!
Just now, we heard a loud crash outside. (It’s not really surprising seeing as there is a tropical storm bearing down on us and there is a lot of new construction happening in our little neighborhood). Well, Kona wasn’t having it. As she sort of growled under her breath, she first ran to the dining room window and looked side to side, but decided that she didn’t like her vantage point. Have to be higher up to get a better survey of the land. So she sprang up the stairs, two at a time, until she reached the first landing where the small square window is. This is a great spot…she is almost on the second floor and can look down our drive and towards the construction. But before she camps out, she goes up one more landing to the HUGE window that looks past the security gate and out towards the street. She looks both ways, decides that nothing is wrong there and is back to her spot on the first landing.
What is really cracking me up right now is that she seems a little tired….so she has her butt on one step with her back legs straight out in front of her. Her front legs are on the step below her and then her head is resting on the window sill. I’m going to try to get a picture but I’m sure that as soon as I move she’ll perk back up again.
Oh well, my tireless guard dog is keeping watch (even if she is tired) and I know that I will be safe at home today.
Oh and while all this is happening, Dixie got up, licked my foot, and then laid back down in her spot to my left. Good dog.
