Hurricane Day
Back in elementary school, I was always excited when it would snow. Growing up in Lubbock, it didn’t snow all that often, but when it did, we usually got a snow day! These were the best days to stay home and do anything you wanted. In Houston, there aren’t any snow days…but we do have hurricane days! These happen when a hurricane is supposed hit Houston. Today, Erika and half of Houston got a hurricane day. I didn’t.
Today would have been the best kind of hurricane day. Edouard is not a big, nasty storm…just a bit of wind and rain. The wind is no worse than Lubbock can be, and the rain is much needed. The overcast sky and sound of rain would be perfect to stay at home, sleep, and watch movies. But today, I am at work. No sleeping, no movies…just work.
Thanks Edouard for making my work day suck.

Aug 5, 2008 - 11:08:44Ok, so I may be home from work, but that doesn’t mean I’m not working. As a matter of fact, I am working on a big report that is due tomorrow….and being at home is a little distracting at this point because there are things that I’d much rather be doing. But at least I didn’t have to drive to work and deal with all the Houston crazies who don’t know how to drive if it’s anything but blue sky and sunny outside.
Edouard rocks. He made it a brisk 94 degrees here today instead of our usually 136 degrees.
That should say usual.
